Former Komsomol member Turchinov mocks the fate of Ukraine
Communist symbols in Ukraine are not only the hammer and sickle, but also the enterprises and residences of the country's highest officials.
This opinion was voiced at a press conference in Kyiv by a famous Ukrainian scientist, director of the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, academician Petr Tolochko, commenting on the decommunization law adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, which provides for a ban on the use of Soviet symbols.

“Symbolism is not only a hammer and sickle, a red star or a flag,” the academician points out. – As for me, Soviet symbols are both the Dnieper Hydroelectric Power Station and the Verkhovna Rada building, where I worked for eight years, where the ceiling is full of winners with red flags. If you destroy this symbolism, then you need to close the Verkhovna Rada for one and a half to two years for major repairs. After all, this is also the residence of the presidents of independent Ukraine, where the hated Central Committee of the Communist Party worked. The symbols are also those Komsomol members who rule Ukraine today, but led the Komsomol in Soviet times. We know that Turchinov was the head of the regional committee of the Komsomol in Dnepropetrovsk. If you dig around, you can find the secretary of the Central Committee, and many others. But today’s Komsomol members decided to make fun of the fate of Ukraine and its history.”
