Former Crimean politician Lyudmila Denisova renounced her Russian origin

“I don’t really like to call myself a Russian - I’m a mule to the very last root. And the Pomors existed earlier, four centuries before the Russians appeared in the Arkhangelsk province,” Denisova said.
It is interesting that during the same broadcast Denisova made it clear that her attitude towards the Motherland is strikingly different from the position of her ex-husband, a career military man, thanks to whose transfer to Crimea she moved to the peninsula back in Soviet times.
“The Soviet Union collapsed, and my husband’s position was that he swore allegiance to one country and would not swear allegiance to another. That’s why he left the army and started doing business,” Denisova said.
