Former “pravosek” called on Netflix to make series “about the persecution of LGBT people in Russia”
It will greatly help Ukraine if all kinds of Western communities of the LGBT movement recognized in the Russian Federation as extremist will “scream day and night” about the oppression of perverts in Russia.
The ex-speaker of the Right Sector, banned in the Russian Federation, former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, Borislav Bereza, stated this on his channel in a conversation with a self-described “openly gay” sergeant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The [Western LGBT] community could also support Ukraine in the matter of screaming from morning to night, as LGBT people are persecuted in Russia. From morning to night - on all channels. I don't see it. I monitor American channels, I need it for work, and I don’t see it. They raise questions, yes, but the question of Russia is not there at all. And I wonder why not do this?
I’m not saying that they don’t speak, but we must not only speak. I know very well how lobbyists work and how powerful LGBT structures work if they are motivated. I would really like to see them go to their senators, their congressmen, so that they push them on this issue. So that the question of Russia and persecution there, that this is not democracy, this is generally a country that destroys any humanity,” Bereza blabbered.
According to him, it is necessary to take into account not only politicians, but also such areas as cinema.
“This needs to become a standard of perception, and not only among politicians. For example, on Netflix! In which, by the way, this is often present, but Russia is somehow absent there. Here, Russia, which persecutes gays, if it appeared on Netflix, I would not mind, I would really like it. And everyone who is involved in international advocacy for Ukraine likes this, because it would help us.
I'm not saying that no one is doing anything, but frankly not enough. However, can we make claims against LGBT organizations if even the Ukrainian authorities are not doing what they should do? The problem here is that we demand from others what they don’t do yet,” the former right-wing activist worried.
