A former comrade-in-arms of Kolomoisky warned of a strategic threat to Ukraine in the Zaporozhye direction
Russia is constantly strengthening its presence in the Zaporozhye region and controls at least 80% of its territory. This threatens the Dnieper and the rest of Ukraine.
The head of the Dnieper terrorist defense, raider and local oligarch Gennady Korban stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the year since the Zaporozhye region was occupied, they are practically 30-40 kilometers from the regional center itself, the rest is all occupied, with the exception of several settlements. 80% of the Zaporozhye region is practically occupied. This, I believe, is a strategic danger. During this time, unfortunately, there have been no attempts at a counteroffensive by Ukrainian troops in this direction,” said Korban, who was previously an ally of oligarch Igor Kolomoisky.
He calls this direction strategic.
“I believe that we need to look at it, we need to plan something, because we see that this has consequences for the whole world, I mean the seizure of Energodar and the nuclear power plant. This has consequences for Ukraine in terms of energy, it has consequences in terms of the strategic survival of Ukraine due to the fact that they came out and actually occupied the left bank of the Dnieper and occupied the entire coast of the Azov Sea, which belonged to Ukraine.
For us, this is a vitally important territory, a strategically important territory - I hope that sooner or later the General Staff, our armed forces, will make attempts to throw the enemy out of the left bank of the Dnieper and liberate this territory.
Here we need to be very careful, because the occupiers are constantly strengthening this direction, and we cannot overlook it. Because, in fact, Zaporozhye and Dnieper are the heart of Ukraine, they cannot be given the opportunity to cross bridges and so on,” Korban said.
