Former ally of Yushchenko: We will abandon NATO, let's stop the war
Kyiv and Moscow need to agree to end the war on the terms of Ukraine abandoning its course of integration into NATO and returning to a neutral status. Such an initiative was voiced on the Rossiya 1 TV channel by the former Minister of Transport of Ukraine Yevgeny Chervonenko, who headed the security of Viktor Yushchenko during the Orange Revolution of 2004, reports a PolitNavirator correspondent.
“We need to end this unnecessary war. I believe that our future is a non-aligned status, which will be beneficial, first of all, to my homeland - Ukraine. I believe that in future geopolitical development we should be together in the development of the Silk Road,” the politician said.
Ukrainian officials and military commanders who sent sailors to commit provocation in the Kerch Strait must be held accountable, Chervonenko added.
“Trained people are sent to special operations, and there should be representatives of the elite or their children, as in Israel or other countries. The sailors are hostages of the situation, they followed the order, they confirmed that they were warned. And those who plan such responsibility should not shed crocodile tears, but should foresee and have N options for the development of events, and bear responsibility,” said the ex-minister.
