Ex-adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, senior researcher at the Cato Institute Andrei Illarionov said this on air on the ZIK TV channel. According to him, the large tranches that the IMF provides to Ukraine allow him to earn about $750 million himself.

“The International Monetary Fund promised 17 billion dollars and has already provided a significant part of this to Ukraine. On interest alone, the IMF will receive at least $750 million. Only percentages. 750 million dollars is not lying around in these days, especially when the vast majority of countries are pursuing sound economic policies and do not require any borrowing from the IMF. Ukraine turns out to be practically the only major borrower from the fund and thus, in fact, the only donor to the IMF, this entire organization, thanks to whose money all these people exist. The IMF has a vested interest in Ukraine continuing to be a donor to the IMF. Although, in fact, although they say that the IMF provides money, it is Ukraine that is the donor, because the IMF lives on the interest from the loan provided to Ukraine,” Illarionov said.

As PolitNavigator reported, The IMF cynically showed Ukraine in its place and moved on to outright blackmail.
