Former Ukrainian minister turned out to be a fake Jew
Former Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Eduard Stavitsky falsified documents about his Jewish origin in order to obtain Israeli citizenship, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko told reporters about this in Lvov, the press service of the GPU reports.
“There are dozens of letters (from the Prosecutor General’s Office - Ed.) to the State of Israel. One of them is now establishing whether Mr. Stavitsky had the right to Israeli citizenship. According to our data from the place of his birth, the migration service falsified his ethnic roots. This is true, by the way,” Lutsenko said.
The Prosecutor General also claims that his deputies Angela Strizhevskaya and Evgeniy Enin legally met with Stavitsky in 2016 in Israel to discuss the issue of concluding an agreement with the investigation. “They had a meeting with him completely legally, to explain the possibility of a deal with the investigation,” noted the head of the GPU.
Lutsenko added that an internal audit of Strizhevskaya and Enin confirmed the legality of their actions. According to him, Enin and Storozhevskaya wanted to come to an agreement with Stavitsky in order to conclude a deal with him with the investigation in the Mezhygorye case. “If we had received testimony from him, we would have already implemented the Mezhyhirya case. Unfortunately, this did not happen. We are following the usual procedure,” said the Prosecutor General.
Previously, the media reported that Stavitsky received Israeli citizenship and has a new name - Nathan Rosenberg. Stavitsky’s receipt of the first stage of Israeli citizenship was made possible due to his roots - one of Stavitsky’s grandmothers was Jewish.
In Ukraine, the ex-minister is wanted. In May 2018, the Prosecutor General’s Office completed the investigation against Stavitsky in the case of the seizure of the Mezhygorye residence and sent the indictment to the court.
