Brzezhinski explained that it makes sense to put political pressure on Russia only when it is backed up with weapons.

“At this time, NATO and especially the United States must provide Ukraine with access to weapons for protection. Containment makes no sense if there is no force behind it,” the Ukrainian TV channel “1+1” quotes the American political scientist as saying.
