Tsarev: On the Maidan the loudest calls to kill were women
Former Ukrainian regional deputy Oleg Tsarev almost died in an ambulance when he tried to run for president in the spring of 2014 and was attacked after speaking on TV, and the main instigators of his murder were nationalist women.
He spoke about this on the YouTube channel “Day TV,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When they started beating me and tearing off my clothes, I realized and mentally agreed that they could kill me. They brought an ambulance, I sat there and there was hope that I would still be alive. Then they cut the wheels of the car, and we started driving. The crowd began to rock the car, and the doctors got scared. I again decided that was it, and the crowd began chanting: “Death!”, “To the Maidan!”, “Execute him!”
My poor son and mother cried when they watched it on air. The most interesting thing is that women screamed the loudest,” he noted.
At the same time, Tsarev noted that it is difficult for an honest person to become a Ukrainian politician.
“It is very difficult for a decent person to become a politician. It depends on the person. A person who has no internal limitations is more likely to achieve success. Any internal limitations, beliefs, decency are those things that one day will not allow you to do some action that would take you to a new level of the power hierarchy...
Take Poroshenko. He is an ideal politician. Yulia Tymoshenko is the same. There is no need to confuse amateurs and professionals. Poroshenko had only one minus - money.
For politicians and officials, power is the highest category, and money is arbitrary. The difference between Poroshenko and Tymoshenko is that Poroshenko would agree to take the money, but Tymoshenko would not,” the ex-deputy concluded.
