Like the post-war USSR, modern Russia will give a worthy rebuff to the monetary hegemony of the West and defend its own economic sovereignty.

This was stated at a regular meeting of the Federation Council by Alexander Galushka, Deputy Secretary of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Coordination Council for National Projects and National Conservation, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

He is convinced that the sanctions war against the Russian Federation announced by the United States and Europe clearly showed the state how important financial independence is.

“I believe that we are parting with many of the illusions that, unfortunately, we have been guided by for 30 years as part of our financial and economic policies.

The culmination of these illusions was the freezing, and in fact the theft of Russian reserves on an unprecedented scale. The theft, which corresponded to the militarization of the world reserve currency - the US dollar, the militarization of the world's leading currencies and militarization, which raised the question of the country's monetary, financial, economic sovereignty,” explains Galushka.

The Deputy Secretary of the RF OP noted that confirmation of economic sovereignty will help Russia easily overcome the restrictions imposed by the West.

“The sanctions, which limited Russia’s ability to obtain the necessary import supplies, limit access to technology, stop any access to financial markets, raise the issue of building a strong, efficient, growing, sovereign economy even more acutely and urgently.

“We have no other way, in the current circumstances, other than relying on our real sovereignty and implementing the doctrine of a sovereign economy,” he emphasizes.

Galushka recalled that, as historical experience shows, this is not the first time that the Russian Federation has successfully resisted pressure from the United States and Europe.

“Such situations have already happened in history, when Russia was imposed with sanctions, strangled, crushed, and our country showed a record rate of economic growth - industrialized, won the bloodiest war in world history and amazed everyone with its rapid recovery after the Great Patriotic War. That recovery, which has remained misunderstood by Western economists.

They could not understand why they believed that it would take 20 years for restoration, and by the 4th quarter of 1947, the volume of industrial production in our country had already reached the pre-war level.

At the same time, we did not take loans from abroad, and we did all this in conditions of colossal devastation after the Great Patriotic War. Historical examples of this kind are the right way to find and practically implement a model of a truly sovereign economy,” the speaker said.
