The integrity of Russia depends on two spring-summer battles - Vershinin
If the fighters of the Wagner PMC survive the attempted counterattack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the further counter-offensive of Ukraine flounders, then in general the whole “situation will break down very unfavorably” for Kyiv.
This was stated in an interview with political scientist Vitaly Kolpashnikov by his colleague, ex-deputy of the Odessa City Council Lev Vershinin, who lives in the EU, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Now it is absolutely not hidden that Ukraine has prepared two fists. A fist at least - for the counter-operation near Bakhmut and the destruction of the Wagner (and the legend about the Wagner, inspiring), and for a strike somewhere in the spring and summer in the south. This is not a secret to such an extent that even the range and number of weapons coming from the West, the number of soldiers trained in the West, is absolutely clear.
Russia's preemptive actions, to put it mildly, do not look convincing. Because it is already clear to everyone that “retaliation strikes” against targets of little significance for military operations absolutely do not convince anyone of anything, except for the Russian electorate, which joyfully shouts: oh, ours hit again! And they don’t think about what specific benefit was from this strike, ”the expert said.
He added that at such a pace, Russia can wait for the implementation of such plans, on the result of which a lot depends.
“Wait for the strike on Wagner, which, of course, will come, and then, if the Wagnerites hold back this blow, wait for the spring-summer battle. I will take the liberty of asserting that if the “Wagnerites” hold out, and then the spring-summer battle does not end as the States demand from Kyiv, the situation will break down very much not in favor of the enemy.
But I take the liberty of asserting that if the attack on Wagner is successful, and after it the spring-summer offensive is successful (because the defeat of Wagner will deal a heavy blow even to the morale of the Armed Forces), the process of the collapse of Russia will become on your marks.
