This opinion was expressed in an interview with the Kyiv magazine “New Time” by the founder of the “Ukrainian Helsinki Group” and vice-rector of the Ukrainian Catholic University Miroslav Marinovich.
“It seems to me that today many countries and peoples have been “infected” by Putin. He was the first to put national egoism, the “zero-sum” logic, as his platform. At first the world was shocked. It seemed like he was being reined in. However, later many people liked this position. And look how national egoisms began to work in Western and Central Europe. The same Dutch referendum, the current situation in Poland or Hungary, Brexit. Even Trump won with the same slogans. This is a general fashion, unfortunately, it is cyclical and inevitable,” Marinovich said.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Marinovich stated, that citizens of Ukraine should not publicly carry flowers to the embassy and consulates of the Russian Federation after the airliner crash in Egypt.
