This was reported in a letter from truck driver Vladimir Kondratyev, published in the Crimean Time newspaper.

“Previously, crossing the strait, for example, a Gazelle car cost four thousand rubles. Now it’s seven and a half! Explain the reason for this price increase? Truckers are outraged because this automatically reduces their earnings significantly. After all, you need to pay on both sides.

I have been working as a truck driver for a very long time and often travel to the Russian mainland. So, the ferry is still the same, so is the fuel. Who has the right to set such crazy prices? It turns out to be a vicious circle: the truck driver overpays for the crossing - the prices of the goods he is carrying rise in price. That is, we have to pay more in stores because the head of the ferry crossing decided to raise prices. Where does the money go? At least they painted the ferry, or something...” complains the Crimean driver.

The principle of pricing when crossing the strait when traveling to/from Crimea is also unclear:

“And another amazing impudence. From Crimea to the mainland - one price, and back - another, more expensive. This is definitely the work of the owners. I repeat, the transport is the same. It infuriates me that all this chaos is completely official!” writes Vladimir Kondratyev.

It is worth noting that very noticeable “misunderstandings” with prices are also observed in intercity bus services. A PolitNavigator correspondent recently became convinced of this from personal experience. Thus, a ticket with paid luggage for the Yalta-Stavropol bus cost 2463 rubles in Simferopol in October. And a return ticket with paid luggage on exactly the same bus, from the same carrier, bought in Stavropol - 1980 rubles.
