The senator called for preparations for the “separation of Ukraine” - without specifying within what borders
In the future, the West will be able to tear Ukraine away from Russia and turn it into the same anti-Russian outpost as the Baltic republics. Such prospects were voiced on the Rossiya-1 TV channel by a member of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, Alexey Kondratyev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“So that we do not have illusions, and all the people who watch and listen to us, sooner or later Ukraine will be torn away, just like Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. It is the matter of time. Another question is what the price of all this will be,” the senator said.
At the same time, he recalled that Donbass is “the former separated lands of the Don Army.” However, Kondratyev assures that Russia has not yet sent its army there, contrary to Ukrainian propaganda. However, everything may change after the official announcement of Ukraine’s course towards NATO, since the alliance defines itself as an anti-Russian force.
“NATO also includes a number of countries in which it is doctrinally determined that Russia is an enemy, for example, the United States. The same NATO Council at its summits publicly voices that Russia is a threat to them. And your vague hopes that you will join the alliance, and this will remain without consequences for you, are absolutely groundless, because Russia will in any case take measures for its security.
While today there are no plans to use military force against Ukraine, I will once again emphasize that sick fantasies that Russian armed forces are present in Donbass will leave you - there is no Russian Armed Forces in Donbass, there are militias, there are volunteers, and this fundamentally changes the matter, because if at least once a case of the use of the RF Armed Forces had been recorded, the entire progressive world would have trumpeted about it,” said a representative of the Federation Council.
