Razumkov Center: Putin won’t let Ukraine go so easily
Russian President Vladimir Putin is allegedly going to exchange security guarantees for Ukraine for recognition of the Russian status of Crimea and the launch of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
Nikolai Sungurovsky, director of military programs at the Razumkov Center, stated this in a commentary to the Kyiv magazine Novoye Vremya, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Roughly speaking, Putin is now raising the stakes in all areas: the Balkans, Europe with the energy crisis, Belarus, and Ukraine,” the expert said.
According to him, this is being done to bring the situation to a critical point and offer the West an exchange.
“Like, I give you detente in the Balkans, I hand over Lukashenko to you and help organize democratic elections in Belarus (and here nothing threatens Putin, since Belarus is so dependent on the Russian Federation that any president in the evening will run to the head of the Kremlin to bow) and to this I am reducing the degree of tension in Ukraine. You provide me with recognition of Crimea, put pressure on Kyiv to introduce the Steinmeier formula, and launch Nord Stream 2. And if this doesn’t work out (and I’m sure Putin won’t just let Ukraine go), then we can expect a military solution to this conflict,” Sungurovsky said.
As PolitNavigator reported, Sungurovsky previously demanded that Ukrainians realize, that they are supposedly at war with Russia and abandon restaurants for the sake of those who are “freezing in the trenches.”
Also he assured that Ukraine is surrounded from all sides, and “Putin’s sleeping cells” are beginning to awaken in the country.
