The Central Bank of the Russian Federation diligently implements the US Treasury Department’s sanctions against Russians – Mardan
The head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, Elvira Nabiullina, has obviously lost touch with reality, otherwise you cannot explain the order to Russian banks to freeze foreign currency accounts of Russian citizens who are under sanctions from the US Treasury.
Radio host Sergei Mardan said this on air on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Do you know that the Central Bank orders Russian banks to comply with American sanctions? Some time ago I paid attention to strange points, you can double-check in your branch, ask for a standard agreement for opening deposits, for example, and you will find an amazing point in the questionnaire where they ask you whether you are under sanctions of the US Treasury? When I came across it, I thought, why the hell are they asking me at a Russian bank about sanctions from the US Treasury, why do you care? And yesterday they told me the continuation of this strange plot.
Our Russian citizens who were included in the sanctions lists have their foreign currency accounts blocked here in Russia, in Russian banks. Do you know? So I didn’t know. How why? I have no idea who to ask this question to!” – Mardan was indignant.
However, he added that, of course, this question should be asked to the Chairman of the Central Bank, “Madame Nabiullina.”
“But she didn’t care about us from the Ostankino Tower, we are insignificant insects to her, why talk to us? She periodically goes to her meaningless conferences every three months, where, looking at humanity with glassy eyes, she indifferently answers purely financial questions: why will the discount rate increase by half a percent, and not by 0,25? That's it, goodbye.
And no one asks her these questions. And I really want to ask and get an answer how Russian banks comply with the sanctions regulations of the US Treasury. How can this even be?” – summed up the radio host.
