Gas prices for the population of Ukraine will continue to rise
According to agreements with the IMF, the price of gas for the Ukrainian population will gradually increase to the cost of gas for industry.
The former head of the public relations department of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, Valentin Zemlyansky, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Gas tariffs will be revised monthly and, with a high degree of probability, increased. If, going through the low season of gas prices, we have an increase in gas tariffs for the population, then what can we say about the high season. This situation will last until the end of this year. If the government does not make any other decisions and regulations are not changed, then from January 1, 2020, the price of gas will float freely, that is, it will be directly tied to the price for industry without any restrictions,” the expert believes.
“There will be what our government officials like to call a free market. We will have a free market under the control of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, which determines prices for industry, and will determine gas prices for the population,” warns Zemlyansky.
