Gas prices in Russia are ten times less than in Europe – Zavalny
Only a third of the gas produced in Russia is exported to other countries, and the price for Russian consumers is fixed at $60, which is ten times lower than in Europe.
Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Energy of the Russian Federation Pavel Zavalny stated this during a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On the domestic Russian market, gas prices are regulated, and for the last five years, gas prices in the country have not increased at all. In the last year alone they have grown by 2 percent. If we take the absolute price of gas in Russia, it is $60, ten times less than what is traded on the European market today.
At the same time, the country uses about two-thirds of the gas produced, and only one-third is exported. In the energy balance, natural gas today makes up more than 50 percent, according to various estimates, 55-56 percent in thermal generation,” Zavalny said.
Let us recall that earlier Moscow stated that Berlin would assure Warsaw and Kyiv in favor of Nord Stream 2.
In addition, Kiev noted that the shortage of coal and natural gas, as well as the shutdown of most nuclear power plants, led to the fact that Ukraine has already experienced energy collapse.
