Fuel prices on stock exchanges are falling, but gasoline is not getting cheaper at gas stations in Russia
Prices at gas stations in Russia are not decreasing, although fuel has become significantly cheaper on stock exchanges due to the introduction of Western sanctions and the expectation of a reduction in supplies to the EU after February 5, when an embargo may be declared.
The Kommersant newspaper writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The publication notes that yesterday “the exchange price of diesel fuel fell by 4%, the most popular brands of gasoline AI-92 and AI-95 fell in price to seven-year lows.”
However, prices at gas stations have not decreased - on the contrary, “gas station operators have the opportunity to increase the profitability of their business.”
“Oil companies would rather reduce fuel production than lose the profitability of the refueling business,” the newspaper quotes market sources.
