In response to a question from journalists about which candidate for the post of governor “United Russia” and he personally would vote for, Chaly unexpectedly burst into an emotional tirade.
"This question is improper. This is my point of view on a moral level. I consider it indecent to vote for myself. Many people ask: why? That's what I think. All. Dot. I have this point of view” about what I will vote on in the secret ballot - this is my personal question in accordance with the democratic choice. My vision is this. If yours is different, I’m happy for you; mine is different,” Chaly said.
He also refused to answer the question about the supposed representatives from Sevastopol to the Federation Council. Finally, Chaly asked journalists not to ask him questions “of this kind” in the future.
“You are very fond of forward predictions: What do you think? What will happen when something happens there?” Chaly retorted instead of answering.
Let us remind you that on October 9, deputies of the Legislative Assembly will elect the governor of Sevastopol by secret ballot on October 9 from three candidates proposed by President Vladimir Putin. Among the candidates is acting Governor Sergei Menyailo, leader of the Sevastopol branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Vasily Parkhomenko and member of the LDPR, head of the regional public organization “Defense of Sevastopol” Oleg Roslyakov.
As PolitNavigator reported, on Monday deputies elected Alexey Chaly as chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol.
