Chaly about the governor of Sevastopol: He destroys everything
Russia is spending a huge amount of money on the restoration of Sevastopol after being part of Ukraine, but the city is catastrophically unlucky with local officials - the governors cannot form teams that would effectively use the funds allocated by Moscow.
The hero of the “Russian Spring”, the “people's mayor” of Sevastopol, Alexey Chaly, said this on air on the First Sevastopol TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I must say with regret that, despite the gigantic federal investments, the federal support that we have is completely unprecedented - nothing like this has ever happened in Ukraine - over five years, a system of power has not developed in Sevastopol that enjoys the trust of citizens . Of course, in this sense, I think that a large number of citizens are seriously disappointed,” Chaly said.
He criticized Governor Dmitry Ovsyannikov.
“The key issue for Sevastopol today, situationally, is the figure of the governor... Alas, he does not create, he really destroys everything. What is shown on state television has nothing to do with reality,” Chaly said.
His brother, member of the legislative assembly Mikhail Chaly, added that the impact of sanctions is still felt in Sevastopol - Russian business prefers not to quarrel with the West and refuses to work in Crimea.
“This is not a question for us. After all, we’re not the ones bringing banks here. Try to get a service that is available throughout Russia, for example, to repair your gadget, but in Crimea this service is not available. Can we travel abroad to all countries? Can not. In fact, now the residents of Crimea and Sevastopol have some kind of defeat in their rights,” Chaly said.
