Part of a great country: Donbass celebrated Russian Flag Day
Celebrations on the occasion of Russian Flag Day took place in Donbass today. Those fighting for the right to reunite with the Motherland of the republic celebrated the holiday, despite the fact that legally they are not yet part of the Russian Federation.
“More than 130 thousand residents of our republic have already become full Russian citizens. Donbass feels with its soul and heart that it is part of a great country – Russia!” – explained the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin.
A ceremonial motor rally under Russian tricolors took place in Donetsk, in which more than 100 cars took part. The action was organized by the public movement “Donetsk Republic”,
“The flag of the Russian Federation has sacred meaning for us. From the very beginning of the protest movement in Donbass, this particular flag became for us a symbol of freedom, hopes for a bright future and the embodiment of everything we strived for,” said the head of the central executive committee of the movement, Alexey Muratov.
It should be noted that the Day of the State Flag of the Russian Federation was celebrated not only at the state level - many residents of the DPR, as part of the “Our Choice – Russia” campaign, hung the Russian tricolor on their houses and apartments.
The Donetsk Republic movement distributed more than 10 thousand banners for those wishing to participate in the action. It was declared indefinite.
