The vice-president of the association of tour operators of Crimea and Sevastopol, Lyudmila Babiy, stated this on the air of the Simferopol ITV channel.
“People survive, and survive as best they can. Another question is that we arrived in the Black Sea region. We meet with local hotels. It’s hard to call it hotels; it’s at least a private sector – 80 – 120 rooms in one specific area. At best - SPD according to Ukrainian laws. At the same time, on the main street of the village of Olenevka there is uncut grass, and this is one of the most popular resort villages in the region,” the expert noted.
At the same time, she emphasized, entrepreneurs ask “where are the tourists, give us tourists!”
“And I say - somehow you put the beach in order, mow the grass on the street! Do you think people come to a resort for one toilet or a beautiful colorful bed that should be white according to the quality standard? I have a toilet at home, you have a toilet... We came from the city for relaxation and impressions. They say that the private sector has sank - it has sank legally... Because you can’t make money without paying taxes to the Crimean budget! And Crimea incurs huge costs for garbage removal, for this and that... Now we will support this sector that does not pay taxes, or those who are in the light?” Lyudmila Babiy is indignant.
