Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that his country’s duty is to “protect the rights of the Crimean Tatars.”

He announced this following a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin, the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reports.
“As for the Crimean Tatars, our duty is to preserve them in Crimea and protect their rights and interests in the territory of Crimea. Our task is also to support the Crimean Tatars regardless of their place of residence,” said the chief Turkish diplomat.
