What Donetsk lacked: Strelkov told how “polite people” drove the “winning team” into the Crimean Armed Forces
Simferopol, January 25 (PolitNavigator, Evgeniy Andreev) – One of the true leaders of the “Crimean Spring”, ex-Minister of Defense of the DPR Igor Strelkov spoke about the cowardly position of the Crimean “winning team” in the dramatic February days.

“I have been in Simferopol since February 21. Only Berkut went over to the side of the population, I emphasize, not the authorities. The remaining bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were under the authority of Kyiv, and carried out orders from Kyiv. I saw it with my own eyes. Yes, they did it reluctantly, carelessly. Yes, somewhere there they feigned illness and simply sabotaged it. But they continued to submit to Kyiv and did not follow the instructions that the new government gave them,” Strelkov noted during the broadcast of the “Polit-Ring” talk show.
"Further. Unfortunately, I did not see any support from government authorities in Simferopol. I didn't see it. She wasn't there. The deputies were gathered by the militias to drive them into the hall, what can I say... Yes, I was one of the commanders of these militias, I saw all this from the inside with my own eyes. I’m not talking about the army at all...,” Strelkov stated.
In his opinion, if the Russian military had supported the Russian regions of Ukraine, Russia would have had a resounding victory there, just like in Crimea.
“There were Russian military on the outskirts of Simferopol and directly in Sevastopol, there was hope that they would support, and they did. If there were armored personnel carriers of the Russian marines in Donetsk and Lugansk, believe me, everything would be the same. Moreover, I will emphasize that it would be the same in Kharkov, Nikolaev, and Odessa. If there was support in other regions, there would be exactly the same bloodless, deafening victory as in Crimea,” assured Igor Strelkov.
