The Czech Republic grossly violated the agreement with Russia
The Czech authorities violated the bilateral treaty of friendship and cooperation with Russia by allowing the demolition of the monument to Marshal Konev in Prague.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this at a briefing in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Zakharova, according to the agreement, the parties must ensure the safety and care of military monuments, as well as provide access to them, which was not done.
“The Czech authorities not only did not take measures to prevent the illegal actions of the leadership of the Prague 6 urban district, but also condoned them. The question of whose ownership the monument is in this context is irrelevant. It is obvious that the arbitrary dismantling of the monument to I.S. Konev does not fit into the conscientious fulfillment of obligations regarding the care of the monument and its preservation.
Given the need to ensure access to the monument, the issue of its location should not have been resolved unilaterally. Article 5 of the Treaty provides for an extensive consultation mechanism at various levels. It could be used in this regard,” Zakharova said.
Let us remind you that the monument to Marshal Konev in Prague was demolished by the city authorities on April 3 of this year. Russia stated that she was ready take the monument to your territory at your own expense.
