Surkov’s man announces a tough response to deprive Ukraine of military capabilities
There is no longer any point in Russia talking about anything with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
The director of the Center for Political Conjuncture, Alexei Chesnakov, who is considered close to the assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladislav Surkov, stated this on air on the Russia-1 channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
During the program, host Vladimir Solovyov noted that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko was afraid to sit down at the negotiating table with the deceased head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko.
“The question is not that he is afraid. Question: why conduct any negotiations with him? All, Putin said: “What’s the point of participating in his election campaign?” He will throw all his resources into winning. If necessary, he will start a war, and not only declare martial law. There is no point in further dialogue with him. His insulting words addressed to Russia, constant attacks - why discuss him at all?” the expert said.
According to him, it is necessary to discuss what Russia should do.
“We need to prepare for the toughest possible response to any provocations of the Ukrainian side, to the point where it will be necessary to destroy any opportunities for the Ukrainian side to pursue an aggressive policy towards Russia. It is necessary to deprive Ukraine of various military capabilities for aggression,” summed up Chesnakov.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Chesnakov explained, why the appearance in the Russian Presidential Administration for Cross-Border Cooperation of a department that will deal with issues of ensuring policy towards Ukraine will not please Kyiv.
