The closer to the elections, the more often Poroshenko is compared to Yeltsin
In the upcoming presidential elections in Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko may turn out to be the same “convenient” candidate for local oligarchs and the West, as Boris Yeltsin became on the eve of his re-election to a second term.
Ukrainian political scientist Nikolai Spiridonov said this on air on the Politeka Online channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“And as for Poroshenko. His re-election process is reminiscent of a Saving Private Ryan scenario, but the mission is almost impossible!” – said the TV presenter.
“Sometimes in politics the impossible can be achieved. In the 90s, there was such a technology when a convenient candidate was “brought out”. When Mr. Yeltsin had a very low rating in 1996, Zyuganov was brought against him and, allegedly, Yeltsin won on the theses of the fight against communism,” the expert commented.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier political scientist Bohdan Bespalko said that candidate Poroshenko’s zero rating could take off before the elections in the most sudden way according to the method that Boris Yeltsin successfully used in the 90s.
