“The worse for Putin, the better for us”: Navalny made a gift to Bandera’s Ukraine
The Ukrainian delegation at the PACE session tomorrow intends to raise the issue of introducing new sanctions against Russia for “returning to the era of Stalin” – yesterday’s police crackdown on rioters who took part in unauthorized rallies in support of Alexei Navalny.
“Russia is returning to the “era of Stalin”... Yesterday, 3454 people were detained in Russia. This is the highest number in the last 10 years. Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia called for the introduction of EU sanctions against Russian officials responsible for suppressing protests on Saturday... On Monday, EU foreign ministers will discuss the situation surrounding the latest events in Russia. It seems that the likelihood of new sanctions being introduced is very high. For my part, I will say that the PACE session, which starts tomorrow, will be hot. We will do everything to challenge the powers of the Russian delegation and impose sanctions,” announces Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexey Goncharenko.
“At the same time, I have no sentimentality towards Alexei Navalny. He, unlike Boris Nemtsov, “ended up with the Ukrainian question.” He will still answer for this. But now our pragmatic position should be this: the worse it is for Putin, the better for us. If the situation with Navalny leads to new EU sanctions against Russia, that’s good, we should use it,” the Ukrainian deputy clarifies.
