What will the old lady's brazen visit to Taiwan mean for China and the United States?

So, it's done! The third-highest ranking US official, Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, with a large retinue, broke into Taiwan and her Boeing made a “triumphant landing” at Taipei Airport.

The PRC leadership, trying to prevent Pelosi's provocative visit to the separatists, developed powerful preparatory activities, announcing large-scale military exercises in the province of Funan, from which, across the strait, Taiwan is just a stone's throw away.

During the military exercises, the PLA command urgently canceled all flights departing from the airports of the province, declared a closed skies regime over Taiwan and the surrounding area, sent warships to sea, and concentrated a huge amount of armored vehicles on the beaches, hinting to the separatists of a quick operation to de-Americanize the island.

From the moment the government plane took off with the “brave old lady” Nancy, intrigue remained - where exactly the plane with Person No. 3 would land, and whether the PRC leadership would have enough gunpowder to interrupt the flight of the elderly Valkyrie.

It is quite strange that fans of worst-case scenarios did not listen to Beijing’s official position, which openly stated that no one would shoot down Pelosi’s plane, but the PLA Air Force would make attempts to wrap up or land the violators at any airport in China.

The separatists in Taipei got seriously scared and began to beg the fighting old lady to cancel her visit to the island.

Those who expressed the firm belief that Beijing would flex its muscles, express the 1001st “Chinese warning”, after which Pelosi would safely arrive at her destination, turned out to be right.

In Washington, however, they were not so optimistic about the Chinese authorities, they began to lie outright and in every possible way fought against Nancy Pelosi’s decision to visit Taiwan at any cost.

with the Prime Minister of Taiwan

It all started with the fact that once again “covid” put grandfather Bidon to bed. Sleepy Joe withdrew from himself in case of shame, uttering from the TV the prepared phrase “Their bin is sick!”

The head of the State Department, Blinken, appeared on American screens to push a crooked version to the masses, as if there was some precedent when a special envoy of the US President visited Taiwan in 1997, which is why Beijing should not tense up and get angry because Nancy took flight at the behest of her own heart, as a representative of an independent branch of government, operating separately from the State Department.

In fact, in 1997, US Presidential Envoy Nute Gringrich visited Taiwan. But his visit was fully coordinated with the State Department, and China 25 years ago was, as they say, “not a cake.”

Judging by the fact that several American aircraft carriers appeared not far from the island (which do not sail alone), and fighters and refueling aircraft were scrambled at the US Air Force base on Okinawa, it was clear that Washington did not really believe in "China's latest warning"

Why did the United States need a provocation with Pelosi’s flight to Taiwan?

It must be assumed that the goal was twofold. In itself, Pelosi's visit to the island was devoid of any meaning. Person No. 3 could not offer anything valuable or constructive to the people of Taiwan - the Senate did not authorize it.

The point was in the flight itself and the landing of the VIP plane at Taipei airport. This gave: firstly, a chance to maintain a democratic majority in Congress based on the results of the upcoming midterm elections. The situation is such that if the Democrats had lost the elections to the Republicans, grandfather Bidon would probably have been kicked out of the White House through impeachment. The demonstration of the toughness of democratic eggs to the public leaves hope that the senile grandfather will still serve in the presidential chair until the end of his term.

Secondly, the United States has long wanted to give Comrade Xi a resounding slap in the face. Some observers argue that surrounded by the Chairman of the CPC Central Committee there is a gang of Chubais cosmomol members who are inclined to seek compromises with the Americans at the cost of concessions from China. And now that Pelosi’s mission has been completely successful, the rebel Komsomol members seem to have a chance to strengthen their position in the central government.

Possible consequences of the “Pelosi maneuver”.

Let’s not guess what undercover cataclysms in the CPC Central Committee were or will be awakened by the stubborn grandmother’s visit to the separatist island. Let’s dwell on what can be calculated without falling into armchair expertise and conspiracy theories.

It’s a no brainer that the success of Person No. 3’s visit to Taiwan is tactical and promises the United States a lot of trouble in the near future.

In Beijing, the humiliating spitting will not be forgotten or forgiven, especially since Pelosi, barely having time to step off the plane to the television cameras, broadcast a number of statements that few can ignore:

- “We must support Taiwan, which is an island of resilience”;

— Thanks to the pro-American regime established on the island, the region is a leader in governance, peace and security;

— China is guilty of aggressive policies, and Pelosi’s visit to the island symbolizes US support for Taiwan as a democratic partner;

— According to Pelosi, China is guilty of repression unleashed against the people of Hong Kong. Thus, Beijing “threw the promises of “one country, two systems” into the trash”;

— Pelosi called Russia’s actions in Ukraine aggressive and said that she expressed her admiration for Zelensky.

All that remains is to add: “Glory to Uganda!” – and the picture of the visit gets a finished look.

How can China respond to this demarche?

One of Beijing's obvious solutions could be a naval blockade of the island, which could worsen the shortage of semiconductors for the global electronics industry.

Or rather, China will begin to control who will experience semiconductor hunger and who will receive everything according to their needs.

It should be assumed that the humiliated Chinese government will finally begin to more actively help Russia overcome the consequences of international sanctions and provide all possible assistance in carrying out a special operation in Ukraine. In any case, the mention of Zelensky during Pelosi’s appearance before the public in Taiwan should make a proper impression on Beijing.

Let us recall that in April-May, a number of Chinese companies producing advanced quadcopters announced their refusal to sell their products to both consumers in Russia and Ukraine. And this is just the tip of the iceberg, when Chinese companies demonstrated “neutrality.”

It is possible that China will finally start a trade war with the United States, similar to the one that Washington and its allies unleashed against Huawei. Comrade Xi’s safe probably contains a list of Western companies that need to be struck back with the onset of “Time H.”

We can say that Grandma Nancy’s prank was a real gift to Russia.

Otherwise, Washington has once again demonstrated that the laws and rules that its officials talk so much about from high tribunes are not for it. In the “bright city on a hill” they are so convinced of their own exclusivity and invincibility that they defiantly wipe their feet on the resolutions of the UN Security Council and their own official recognition of China’s rights to the island of Taiwan.

arriving with the windows turned off

However, what else can we expect from the “Washington Regional Committee”, entirely staffed with liars, scoundrels and senile people who support the neo-Nazi regime of Ukraine to the detriment of their own population?

Blogger Anatoly Shariy, who always has a few words to say on any occasion, hastened to declare literally the following about his grandmother’s flight: “To summarize. Reports about the superpower China turned out to be somewhat exaggerated.”

I would like to correct the respected expert and blogger. China has never positioned itself as a superpower. The PRC is a regional power whose interests extend almost exclusively to dominance in Southeast Asia. Economically, China is a global player that has managed to challenge the United States, the European Union, Japan and the Asian Tigers.

To become a superpower, China falls short of the USSR and the USA in nuclear deterrent forces - quantitatively, in naval forces - qualitatively. In addition, Beijing is not seen in forming or joining military blocs - it is on its own, preferring partnerships.

Actually, the very fact that the world has been in a unipolar state since 1991 suggests that China has not decided to raise the banner of anti-imperialism that fell from the hands of the USSR, but this does not mean that Beijing in its current status will forgive the United States for violating its sovereignty...
