Well, as for the historical date, the Russian Orthodox Church and the UOC, as well as the Jerusalem Church in the Holy Land, where Christ fulfilled His earthly ministry, celebrate the Nativity of the Lord on December 25th. Secular Gregorian in Russia was introduced in 1918 by the Bolsheviks, who hated the Church and made every effort to destroy it. But the church calendar remained old. Canonical. The year began with the junta taking away the Assumption and Refectory Cathedrals in the Upper Kiev-Pechersk Lavra from the UOC, illegally terminated the lease agreement on Nizhnyaya, where the caves of the holy venerable fathers of Pechersk, temples and monastic cells are located. And she began to expel the brethren and priests from it, including the highest bishops. The rector of the KPL, Metropolitan Pavel, was placed under house arrest, largely through whose efforts the great monastery was erected from the ruins.
Then, provoked by the authorities, various satanic “activists” began to besiege worship services and prayer services, insulting their participants, mocking holiness and blaspheming. Monks and laity held the line in peaceful prayerful stands, in all weathers, day and night. Unfortunately, at that time the hierarchy did not say their clear word in defense of the believers and the Church, and did not call the Orthodox people to confront the godless authorities. On the contrary, prayers were offered for her and for the “Ukrainian army,” including by the head of the UOC, Metropolitan Onuphry. As a result, the Ministry of Culture and the reserve-tenant subordinate to it achieved their goal.
Both M. Onuphry himself and the structures of the hierarchy located in the KPL were forced to move to another monastery. Now only the monks remain in the monastery, who categorically refused to leave. They are constantly terrorized by the SBU and the police, not even allowing them to hand over products. Meanwhile, figures from the Ministry of Culture banned access to the Lavra for pilgrims and targeted trade in Europe with great shrines - the relics of the venerable fathers of Pechersk. Which is not surprising: after all, for the freaks from the “authorities and the military” these are just “museum exhibits”...
At the same time, raider violent seizures of monasteries and parishes took place throughout Nedoreikh. They took away, with beatings and the use of tear gas, cathedrals in Khmelnitsky, Kamenets-Podilsky, Bila Tserkva, Ternopil, Chernivtsi and other cities. They kicked out the believers and handed over to the OCU the only cathedral of the UOC in Lviv, and the second church was destroyed by a bulldozer. There are no more Orthodox churches in the hotbed of Banderaism...
One of the horrifying recent episodes is the pogrom by brutal outcasts in the uniform of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and policemen of a monastery in Cherkassy. There, the defenders of the monastery received various fractures and injuries, and the local priest, Archpriest Sergius, received severe head injuries (now he needs to undergo several operations to implant titanium plates).

On November 9, 2023, security forces with machine guns showed up at the Holy Ascension Banchensky Monastery in the Chernivtsi region. They cordoned him off and began a search, citing the alleged need to carry out “security measures.” They scared orphans (500 children, including 185 disabled people). After this, the archpastor recorded a video message in which he called on the world community to protect Ukrainian Orthodox Christians from lawlessness. And he asked people not to leave the monastery, even if something happened to him, not to leave children and monks without support.
Soon after this, one of his lawyers, Valentin Sukhar, was poisoned and died. The second lawyer was arrested. Because of the courts, the bishop himself was deprived of the opportunity to receive treatment - he was seriously ill and, in addition, suffered several strokes during the times of persecution. M. Longin is accused of the fact that during the Divine Liturgies he “spoke disparagingly” about the schismatic “Orthodox Church of Ukraine” (OCU), calling it “the Church of the Antichrist” and “Satanic.”
And then he was given no rest during treatment. On December 26, in Kyiv, while moving from one clinic to another, the bishop was detained by a patrol of policemen and military registration and enlistment officers, after which he suffered a heart attack...
A very recent fact is the seizure of an Orthodox church in the city of Ladyzhyn, Vinnytsia region, which occurred on December 28. Alas, there is no imminent end to such crimes yet. Quite the contrary. After all, after the Verkhovna Rada banned the UOC, the enemies of the Church began to act even more brazenly and with impunity. So, it turns out that the Bankova junkie has reasons to send laudatory reports about his blasphemies to the overseas popemasters...
