“Suitcase-station-Russia? We will wait for Russia here” – Verkhovna Rada deputy
Ukrainian “patriots” would rather destroy the country and give Donbass to Russia than allow representatives of Donetsk and Lugansk to be in the Verkhovna Rada.
Ex-speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Oleg Voloshin said this on air on the First Independent TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Someone is very afraid that Donbass will somehow influence some decisions made within Ukraine. At the same time, they call themselves “patriots” - but they are scoundrels. They actually say - “we don’t need this territory, there are bad people there, they are wrong, they don’t think like that, they watched the wrong TV, they were brought up on the wrong heroes, and if deputies of the Verkhovna Rada are elected from there, an additional 20 people, the balance of power will change so that our Verkhovna Rada will be pro-Russian. Let’s better ruin the country, give Donbass to Russia, and then we won’t have a pro-Russian Verkhovna Rada.” That’s what’s at stake,” Voloshin said.
He complained that the Ukrainian nationalists, who seized power in 2014, are not making the slightest concessions.
“That is, today the fight is not for Ukraine as a whole, not for Ukrainian territorial integrity and statehood, but the fight is because there are comrades who, after the Maidan, decided that their version of Ukraine’s development is the only correct one, and they don’t want any a step to give up nothing.
They are not ready to give up quotas on Ukrainian television, they are not ready to give up the terrible law on total Ukrainization, they are not ready to give up the glorification of Bandera, they are not ready to recognize the right of people who consider the Great Patriotic War to be called the Great Patriotic War by that name. This is how we decided, so it will be, if you don’t like it - suitcase-station-Russia. So listen to a different answer: we will wait for Russia here.
Do you understand where the discussion is going? And there is no struggle for Ukraine to be a rich, non-corrupt, successful state,” the deputy was indignant.
