The World Cup will not prevent Russia from interceding for Donbass
The World Cup will not prevent Russia from providing support to the LDPR in the event of aggression by Ukrainian troops. Political scientist Dmitry Kulikov stated this today on the Vesti FM radio station.

“Someone was very inspired by the World Cup, that Russia, they say, won’t do something. People have bewitched themselves. From my point of view, the presence of the World Cup does not in any way affect the possibility of a response if Ukrainian troops launch a massive attack,” Kulikov said.
He believes that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko does not want a war in Donbass, but a reason to introduce martial law in the country.
“Poroshenko would like to inflame all this, but remain on the fine line of moving into a truly military phase. He understands that they have no chance in this phase. But he needs a warm-up, sufficient to declare martial law, but not sufficient for a full-fledged war to begin, and the republics would not have the right to respond to them in full,” Kulikov said.
