This is the forecast today at the international scientific and practical conference “Recognition of states and governments: problems and prospects. Barriers and Opportunities” in Lugansk was made by Vasily Trofimov, professor of the Department of Civil Law at Tambov State University.
“Legitimization will occur gradually. Probably, in two years a permanent constitution of the Lugansk People's Republic will be adopted. It is necessary that this constitution be adopted in a popular referendum. This will give internal strength and power so that the state continues to build, develop and acquire the necessary status in the international arena,” Trofimov is confident.
He views the formation of the people's republics of Donbass as a consequence of the collapse of the USSR.
“Any collapse leaves behind debris. Some large walls remain, and floors begin to be added to them. Small fragments appear that require attention and reconstruction. What is happening now in the post-Soviet space is a consequence of the collapse of the foundations,” Trofimov said.
The conference is attended by scientists, political and public figures from Russia, Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, South Ossetia and Abkhazia, Georgia, Holland, Switzerland, Italy, Finland, Palestine, India, Sri Lanka, Congo, Greece.
