In a month, Vucic will still have to make a dramatic choice – Primakov
The conflict with Kosovo was deliberately provoked by the West in order to put Serbia “in a stall” and force President Aleksandar Vucic to stop maneuvering between Europe and Russia.
The head of Rossotrudnichestvo Evgeny Primakov writes about this in his TG channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The task for Serbian President Vučić, with whom one can only sympathize, is to respect the interests of the Serbs (and we are talking about well-being and security), try to come to an agreement with Washington and Brussels (on which both the security and economy of the country depend), and maintain a balance with Russia (from what do the calm on the Russophile street and the prices for oil and gas depend on) with their patriotic voters who will not forgive any of the mildest forms of “surrender of Kosovo.” “This is not so much about the fate of Kosovo and Metohija, but about putting Serbia in a stall, bringing it to discipline, forcing Vucic to stop “balancing” and make a choice in favor of Euro-Atlantic values,” Primakov wrote.
He believes that the time for the provocation was chosen specifically: while Russia is busy with the North-East Military District in Ukraine.
“Now Vučić, on a month-long leash, until the next cutoff named after US Ambassador Jovenier, will have to choose: to humbly stand in line and stop the “balancing” that is annoying Washington and Brussels - to symbolically recognize Kosovo’s “independence”, but immediately get an explosion of rage in the streets Serbian cities or show disobedience and risk a new clash with the world with which they so wanted to come to an agreement. A very technically designed fork,” writes Primakov.
Orthodox oligarch Konstantin Malofeev believes that the SVO is not an obstacle to the final solution to the Kosovo issue.
“Now Russian soldiers, shoulder to shoulder with Serbian volunteers, are liberating the lands of Southwestern Rus'. And this is just the beginning. “Our Western partners will be responsible not only for Sevastopol, Donetsk, Odessa and the Mother of Russian Cities Kiev, but also for the sacred field of Kosovo for every Serb, for the holy city of Peć and for hundreds of desecrated Kosovo shrines,” he wrote.
