In a few days, the Antonovsky Bridge in Kherson will open
The restoration of the Antonovsky Bridge in Kherson is being carried out by the contractor for the construction of the Crimean Bridge, Mostotrest PJSC.
Design documentation has been preserved from Soviet times, when the bridge across the Dnieper was built, and next week it will be opened to traffic.
This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government Marat Khusnullin, who is now in Kherson, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I can say from the bridge that it will be ready early next week. There is very active work going on there. The same company that built the Crimean Bridge is working,” Khusnullin assured. “Fortunately, the bridge was designed during the Soviet Union and the information base of the project has been preserved.”
The Deputy Prime Minister said that the Kherson region will receive 6 billion rubles from the federal budget in August to pay pensions, benefits and salaries. The amount is double the July request for funding, which indicates the region’s transition to the ruble zone. However, the banking sector is not yet able to satisfy the demands of both the population and commodity producers.
“Today we discussed issues related to the sale of agricultural products, but this work has not been fully organized. We will take a number of measures, probably allocate funds for the organization of a regional state unitary enterprise, which will purchase agricultural products,” Khusnullin said. – Of the problems that I heard today, the key issue is in the calculations: Russian buyers are ready to provide only non-cash payments.
But not all agricultural producers have opened bank accounts today; in some places the banking structure is not quite ready. And upon arrival in Moscow, I will definitely hold a meeting with banks so that they speed up the opening of accounts and the installation of ATMs. Due to the fact that the financial system is not yet fully operational, many people sell for cash, but much cheaper, and agricultural producers lose a lot on this.
The second problem is transport. Cars with local license plates are still afraid to drive into Russia; they don’t understand how they will get on the roads to Moscow. Although the largest wholesale buyer “FOOD CITY” is today ready to buy products from the Kherson region. Today we agreed on special passes for travel through all territories. We will encourage the creation of our own motor transport enterprise to export agricultural products. Colleagues are asking for help with this with cars.”
Khusnullin added that if the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions become part of the Russian Federation, a separate program for the development of tourism will be adopted for them, following the example of Sochi and Crimea. In the meantime, the region is preparing for a referendum.
Local authorities are responsible for polling stations in schools and the work of election commissions, and, according to the head of the administration of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, they are provided with all practical assistance.
“Today we are talking about specific practical issues that are related to the daily life of Kherson, all residents of the Kherson region. This attention from the government of the Russian Federation suggests that that’s it, Russia is here forever.
And everything that is needed for residents to feel this support, all this work is carried out in a working format,” Saldo emphasized. – Some of the Ukrainian demagogues are trying to talk about how we are forgotten and abandoned.
On the contrary, the entire housing complex, fuel and energy complexes are being prepared for the autumn-winter period. All points related to the gradual integration into the Russian legal support platform. Therefore, this is where we need personnel and financial assistance.”
