In a few months, Poroshenko will become a subject of investigation by NABU
If the current President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko loses the elections, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine will initiate a criminal case against him.
Member of the Ukrainian parliament from the BPP Sergei Leshchenko spoke about this in an interview with the Kiev magazine “New Time”, answering a question about the reasons for the war between the Anti-Corruption Bureau on the one hand and the Prosecutor General’s Office, the SBU, the anti-corruption prosecutor and others on the other hand.
“I can explain the reason for the war. My version is simple: if Petro Poroshenko loses the presidential election - and this could happen as early as April next year - then from the moment he loses power, Petro Poroshenko becomes a subject of investigation by the Anti-Corruption Bureau. The law is written in such a way that NABU does not have the right to deal with the current president, but has the right to investigate the actions of the ex-president,” the deputy believes.
According to him, NABU has a lot of materials that “have now hit a wall because the chain breaks in the president’s immediate circle and it is impossible to move forward.”
As PolitNavigator reported, the ex-head of the SBU said that before the elections foreign accounts will be frozen, which contain money stolen by the current Ukrainian government.
