The longer Kyiv continues its policy of escalating the situation around Donbass, the further the insurgent region moves away from Ukraine.

Ukrainian political scientist Andrei Ermolaev stated this on air on the 112 TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“To escalate the situation and again exchange reproaches, who should be the first to start and who should be the first to take a step back - every day, when the parties once again reproach each other, who will start first, our military personnel are dying, and the environmental situation is already catastrophically worsening. And, the most interesting thing is that the return of Donbass as an integral part of Ukraine is becoming less and less likely,” said the political scientist.

“I believe that this ping-pong and escalation could lead to the fact that in six months a confederation with any organized Donbass will be a political dream,” Ermolaev warned.
