The Montenegrin prosecutor's office has found a new reason to persecute the Metropolitan of the Serbian Orthodox Church
The prosecutor's office of the city of Cetinje, where the residence of Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and Primorye is located, began an investigation to establish whether the bishop committed a criminal offense by holding a memorial service for the deceased historian Vladimir Jovichevich.
Balkan media reported this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The memorial service for the deceased historian Vladimir Jovicevich was held in the town of Rijeka Crnojevic, and the prosecutor’s office intends to prosecute for participation in it not only the Metropolitan of the Montenegrin and Primorsky SOC Amfilohije (Bozhovic), but also those present at it - one of the leaders of the opposition Democratic Front Andrija Mandich and the Ambassador of Serbia in Montenegro Vladimir Bozovic.
So far, in order to establish the degree of “guilt” of these individuals, they have been sent invitations to “informational conversations”, and, in fact, to interrogations.
“According to available information, there was a violation of the orders of the Ministry of Health on the adoption of temporary measures to prevent the entry into the country, suppress and prevent the spread of the new coronavirus,” commented the official representative of the Cetinje Prosecutor’s Office Dusko Milanović.
At the same time, Milanovic refused to answer the question from Podgorica Vesti whether the metropolitan, the oppositionist and the ambassador would be arrested if they did not appear at the prosecutor’s office for a conversation. Today it has become known that the bishop refused to appear for interrogation until he completed and was freed from his church affairs.

“There was no one at Vlad Jovicevich’s funeral except his three sons, his wife, monks, the Serbian Ambassador to Montenegro Vladimir Bozovic, Andrej Mandic and me. And everyone (were – ed.) at the prescribed (by measures – ed.) distance,” the Metropolitan of the SOC commented on the situation. “If they intend to arrest me, then let them arrest me.” My predecessor Ioaniky was killed, and Metropolitan Arseny was sent to prison for six years. If I had lived in their times, I would probably have already been shot or sentenced for life based on denunciation.”

In these words, Bishop Amphilochius made a hint towards the current regime of Montenegro, which has begun a fight against the Serbian Orthodox Church, with the goal of taking away lands, monasteries and temples from it and transferring it to the schismatic Montenegrin Orthodox Church, whose autocephaly, following the example of Ukraine, the Montenegrin authorities are still unsuccessfully trying to negotiate from the Constantinople patriarchy.
