The Montenegrin minister recognized the great role of Russian science
Moscow
Russia has played a leading role in the fight against the global coronavirus pandemic.
The Minister of Economic Development of Montenegro, Yakov Milatovich, said this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He clarified that workers in the tourism sector were included by the Montenegrin government in the list of priority groups for anti-Covid vaccination.
“The numbers are quite high. I can also tell you that in general this process started in early February, and this became possible thanks to the Sputnik V vaccine. Let me also take this opportunity to once again acknowledge the great role of Russian science in helping in the global fight against the pandemic, as Russia has created four different vaccines,” Milatovich told Izvestia.
He clarified that in addition to Sputnik V, Montenegro also used Sinopharm, AstraZeneca and Pfizer, and as a result, it was possible to vaccinate 35% of the country’s population with at least one dose and 20% with both doses.
In addition, the publication’s interlocutor said that new supplies of the Russian drug are planned.
“As I already said, the first batch of Sputnik V was delivered to us back in February. At the moment, we have received 10 thousand doses directly from Russia, and we have already agreed on an additional 40 thousand doses,” the minister noted.
In addition, Milatovic said that the Montenegrin Ministry of Health is discussing the possibility of supplying other Russian vaccines.
