The Black Sea Fleet will receive unique boats
By the end of this year, the Black Sea Fleet will receive the latest large hydrographic boats “Vladimir Kozitsky” and “Boris Slobodnik”.
This was reported by the press service of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Today, the vessels are undergoing state tests in the Black Sea, during which life support systems, on-board equipment and propulsion capabilities are tested.
“The boats have a length of 33 meters, are designed for high-precision areal survey of the bottom topography and survey of navigational hazards at depths of up to 400 m, survey of the bottom topography with a single-beam echo sounder at depths of up to 2 thousand m. In addition, BGKs are capable of performing rescue and search operations, pilotage submarines and large ships. They have a high power supply and ice class, which allows them to operate in external roadsteads at a distance of up to 50 miles from their bases,” the statement says.
Let us recall that recently the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin took part in the laying of new landing ships in Kerch.
