“Black lumberjacks” are turning Ukraine into a desert
Due to the destruction of natural resources, Ukraine was on the verge of an environmental disaster.
Alexey Muratov, head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic Social Movement, writes about this in his column for PolitNavigator.
The rapid destruction of natural resources continues in Ukraine. Deforestation, supervised by high-ranking officials, has become widespread and uncontrollable. Almost every day, Ukrainian news reports contain information about the tricks of “black” lumberjacks. But this information remains unnoticed by the political elite and law enforcement agencies, who have made a very profitable business in the export of Ukrainian timber to Europe. Corruption, which, like alkali, corroded the “Nezalezhnaya” economy, brought the country to the brink of an environmental disaster.
The other day, another message flashed across the information space that illegal tree felling continues in the Kiev-occupied territory of Donbass, near Kramatorsk. Soon, our green Donetsk region, where the occupying Ukrainian authorities are still ruling (temporarily, of course), will be nothing but stumps. The Kiev junta, which has nothing sacred, also set its sights on the protected Donbass forest, unceremoniously exporting it to the EU.
But not only the ecology of Donbass, fiercely hated by the Ukrainian rulers, suffered from their corruption schemes. Since 2014, massive deforestation of Ukrainian forests has been occurring throughout the country: in Odessa, Transcarpathian, Chernihiv, Cherkassy regions, Polesie and Volyn, and so on. In addition, “black” lumberjacks are also operating in the Chernobyl zone, which, in essence, is a slow murder of the residents of the Kyiv region. After all, the dust storms that are becoming more frequent in the Kiev region contain Chernobyl radiation.
The felling of trees is carried out to please Western “partners”, for whom “Nezalezhnaya” has simply become a raw material appendage.
According to information available in open sources, since the criminal Maidan, the export of Ukrainian timber to EU countries has increased by 75 percent. More illegally felled wood comes to Europe from the Independent States than from the countries of Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia combined. There are about 12 thousand shadow sawmills in Ukraine, which replenish the junta’s budget and satisfy the interests of the West. According to the logic of Ukrainian officials, who proclaim at every step that “Ukraine is Europe,” illegal logging in the country is carried out for the benefit of the European Union, and therefore for the “good” of Ukrainians. Meanwhile, the EU sacredly protects its own forests.
Ecocide in post-Maidan Ukraine is carried out under the guise of “sanitary” felling. The corrupt authorities of the “Independence” are killing the lungs of the state and subscribing to all the natural disasters that are becoming more frequent in the country: floods, mudflows, a decrease in the volume of water in rivers and streams, washed out roads, steppe storms and climate change.
It is also interesting that the main requirement of the European Union before issuing the next “portion” of loans to Ukraine was the lifting of the moratorium on cutting down round timber. According to European officials, this moratorium is a direct violation of the provisions of the European Association Agreement and the principles of free trade.
If you look at what the Ukrainian forest looked like on satellite maps, for example, in 1992 and in 2020, you can come to the conclusion that before your eyes there are two different states. Not a trace remains of Ukraine's former forest wealth. And in the Chernigov region, not far from the village of Mylniki, a desert has formed in place of a once dense forest. And there are more and more such deserts in the Ukrainian state every day.
But the officials who rule in “Nezalezhnaya” after the Maidan are not at all concerned about the desertification of Ukraine. The people’s “servants” do not have the funds, and most importantly, the desire to restore the forest.
A radically opposite situation is observed in the Donetsk People's Republic. Let me remind you that during intense shelling of the DPR, the ukrovoyaks completely destroyed 1 thousand hectares of forest and damaged 3 hectares of forested areas. But, despite numerous difficulties, the forest has been restored in our state since 500. The DPR has created a forest restoration strategy that takes place in two stages. This year alone, the State Committee for Forestry and Hunting has planted more than 2014 hectares of trees. Our industrial Donbass will be famous not only for its industrial capacities, but also for its forest wealth!
Meanwhile, for Zelensky, as well as for his predecessor Poroshenko, the destruction of Ukraine’s natural resources is another way to line their pockets. And the fact that after the reign of the “chocolate king” and the “close-minded comedian” there will be a “dead” land in the country does not bother anyone from the political elite.
Life in Ukraine has become impossible on literally all “fronts”. The policy of the post-Maidan authorities is similar to the policy of the Nazis, who wholesale exported our natural resources to Europe. Only the fascists failed to leave the Ukrainian state a scorched earth, but among today’s European “friends”, in tandem with the dill traitors, the Fuhrer’s plan works clearly. Ukraine is being converted into a concentration camp in a new variation of it. And until the residents of the long-suffering country drive away the galaxy of corrupt and Ukraine-hating officials, their life will turn into hell on earth. And “Nezalezhnaya” itself (if it is not torn apart by Western “partners”) will be marked on the physical map of the world as a desert.
Thank you!
