The Czech President proposed holding a referendum on the EU and NATO in the country
Czech President Milos Zeman called for a referendum on membership in the European Union and NATO to be held in the country.

“I don’t agree with those who are in favor of leaving the European Union,” Zeman said. He noted that he would do everything “so that they have a referendum and so that they can speak out.” The same applies to leaving NATO, he added.
At the same time, the head of state added that he himself would vote against the country’s withdrawal from both organizations.
The agency notes that Zeman does not have the authority to call a referendum; for this it is necessary to amend the Constitution.
According to a survey conducted by the CVVM institute in April, the Czech population's satisfaction with EU membership fell to 25%, down 7% from a year earlier.
