Four-fifths of the Kyiv region remains without electricity
The head of the Kyiv Regional Military-Civil Administration, Alexey Kuleba, said this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The power supply situation remains critical. After recent drone attacks and rocket attacks, power restoration continues. I would like to note that with each enemy shelling, the complexity and duration of repair work increases,” the official wrote in his own channel.
According to him, as a result of large-scale damage to the energy infrastructure, Ukrenergo is using emergency power outages.
“80% of the region is without electricity. The most difficult situation is in the Buchansky, Vyshgorodsky, Obukhovsky and partially Fastovsky districts. This is more than 30 communities. Priority for power supply are critical infrastructure facilities - hospitals, heat and water supply facilities.
In coordination with Ukrenergo and DTEK, we are making every effort to restore power supply as quickly as possible and reach the planned outage schedules. We will promptly inform you about the progress of restoration work. I ask you to treat the situation with understanding. Russian invaders will not be able to break our resilience. We will withstand the challenges and will definitely win,” Kuleba concluded.
In turn, the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko reported on the situation with water supply in the capital.
“Kyiv’s water supply system has been restored. Pumping units at water pumping stations have been put into operation, but it takes time for the water to reach all consumers. Water supply is gradually appearing in the homes of Kiev residents. First - on the lower floors of houses.
Pressure on the upper floors of multi-story buildings is usually provided by additional pumping stations, which require time and electricity to start. Utility workers continue to work to restore water supply to the homes of all Kiev residents,” Klitschko wrote.
At the same time, in the cities adjacent to Kyiv - Irpen, Bucha, Boyarka and surrounding villages - there has been no electricity for almost two days.
Kyiv authorities say that they will be able to fully restore power supply only by December 23.
