Chichvarkin in a T-shirt with the shooting of the White House yearned for the “holy nineties”
Fugitive Russian businessman and liberal Evgeny Chichvarkin misses the 1990s, when, in conditions of anarchy, he “freestyled as best he could.”
The liberal stated this in an interview with Deutsche Welle, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It was very easy and free for me in a fairly liberal market economy during the market period, where there were various parties, where the cops didn’t interfere anywhere, and the state almost didn’t interfere anywhere at all. Where everyone freestyled as best they could. I felt comfortable there,” said Chichvarkin.
He also commented on the choice of T-shirt for the interview - he was wearing clothes with an image of the White House in Moscow, shot from tanks in October 93, with the inscription: “We can repeat it.” According to Chichvarkin, Boris Yeltsin was absolutely right to shoot the disloyal parliament.
“A national tragedy could have happened then, but, thank God, it didn’t happen. If the putschists had won... This is a statement. “I remain committed to democratic and liberal values, which must be defended by force of arms if necessary.”
Thank you!
