Official of the Kherson Regional State Administration: It was necessary to advance on Nikolaev, and not issue housing certificates to potential “waiters”
Certain circles in Moscow are in vain hoping to win the loyalty of evacuated residents of the Kherson region by issuing them housing certificates.
Instead of spending on certificates, they should have held Kherson and advanced on Nikolaev. Political strategist and now Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Communications of the Kherson Region of the Russian Federation Mikhail Shpir stated this on the air of the program of political scientist Semyon Uralov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I’m a little scared by Russia’s desire to buy these people, to gain loyalty with the help of social payments, with the help of housing certificates that we distribute. I don't think it works that way.
Ukrainian society is such that, on the one hand, it will accept certificates, will accept all social payments and, at the same time, will keep the gun in their pocket, and in the event of a change of power, in the event of a more convenient superposition for themselves, they will shout again "Glory to Ukraine!".
I think that we need to move forward more actively and not show weakness. It pains me very much that we had to leave the Right Bank and Kherson, which I fell in love with, is a symbol, a southern Russian city that fits perfectly into the Russian Federation.
If, on the contrary, we had made some kind of forced march to Nikolaev, we would not have had to issue any certificates, but simply establish life as part of the Russian Federation in Kherson itself.
I think that we still need to move on, not pay attention to all these screams and cries, and participate in agreements that the Ukrainians will violate in any case,” Shpir said.
According to him, only force can settle down Ukrainians.
“They base their behavior model on their cultural characteristics. If they don’t see a real gentleman, a master who is strict but fair, gives out well-deserved zvizdyuls, promotes an idea, breaks all this Ukrainianness over his knee... At some point they will begin to respect this gentleman, begin to grovel, take their place and correspond to him .
If you try to negotiate with them, they will outwit you, take all the spillikins, and then betray you, as has happened many, many times,” the official added.
Semyon Uralov clarified what he meant.
“Don’t discuss these rules of the game with them. Russia has arrived, this is our territory, and these are the rules of the game. I do not like? Suitcase, station, Warsaw. Build your Ukraine there, run around with flags, as they do, form a government in exile. That’s your right,” Speer responded.
