Poroshenko official was embarrassed to admit that NATO is not helping as Kyiv asks (VIDEO)
Kyiv, September 10 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Instead of supplying weapons to Ukraine, NATO is ready to provide assistance with prosthetics for injured Ukrainian military personnel during military operations in the Donbass.
This conclusion follows from the speech of the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Valeriy Chaly at the forum “Euro-Atlantic Partnership Day: results of the NATO summit in Wales.”

According to the official, Ukraine was the center of attention among the summit participants. At the same time, Ukraine was never offered potential membership in the alliance.
“It was hardly realistic to expect that Ukraine would bring membership back from the summit,” Chaly tried to explain the situation. – My expectations as an expert in this area after the summit... I would say this: Ukraine today needs everything except membership. If it is impossible for NATO to provide such statuses, then it is necessary to provide the opportunity to deepen relations as much as possible - this is in our interests and realistic.”
At the same time, the deputy head of the Presidential Administration pointed to Ukraine’s priorities in relations with NATO, among which, in particular, he named “strengthening the armed forces, searching for the most effective security system and concrete actions, and not just status.”
True, there is clearly a lack of specifics from NATO regarding Ukraine, which was emphasized by journalists who tried to get more substantive answers regarding NATO assistance to Ukraine.
“The discussion should not be limited only to specific issues of military-technical cooperation,” answered Valery Chaly. – We have a much larger context of interaction. Today, a powerful army must also receive communications equipment, and our soldiers must have the opportunity for rehabilitation. Already today, our heroes are being treated in the countries of the alliance, they are receiving assistance in prosthetics, which is not available in Ukraine.”
Journalists, not satisfied with the answer, again asked the question: will NATO military-technical assistance be provided to Ukraine?
“We are working in different directions,” the presidential official again tried to avoid a direct answer. – In particular, there is a decision of the Newport summit on the creation of four trust funds. Already today it is 15 million euros.”
As a result, Valery Chaly, citing the fact that he had not planned a briefing, stopped communicating with representatives of the media.
Let us recall that earlier Russian experts questioned the possibility of providing large-scale NATO assistance to Kyiv, citing as an example that the result of the alliance summit was the allocation of 15 million euros to Ukraine, which is a meager amount in war conditions.
