Zelensky official came to trial against Russia wearing one shoe
Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine Ivan Leshchina broke his toes on the eve of a meeting of the European Court of Human Rights initiated by Kiev, where Ukrainian claims against Russia regarding Crimea are being considered. As a result, the official had to appear at the trial with a slipper on one of his feet.
Leshchina was obviously embarrassed by his somewhat ridiculous appearance, and therefore announced in advance his appearance in a not-quite-ceremonial outfit by publishing a corresponding blog entry.
“Do you know what the benefit is if you break your toes on the eve of a meeting of the Grand Chamber in the international conference on Crimea? And the fact is that you only need to take one dress shoe, and it takes up exactly half as much space in the suitcase as two... An agent of Ukraine in one slipper and an English adviser (hopefully in two shoes) will defend the state’s position on the admissibility of Ukraine’s complaint against Russia (Crimea),” wrote Leshchina.
After this, Leshchina’s colleagues from the Ukrainian delegation and sympathetic “patriots” launched a flash mob in his support, publishing their photographs, where one of his feet was without shoes.
