Officials of a Ukrainian city celebrated the Day of the Disabled with a gorging station with vodka and caviar in front of the blind.
Officials from Korosten, Zhytomyr region, celebrated the Day of Disabled People at the same table with blind people. While the latter were eating buns and waffles, high-ranking officials invited to the event were snacking on vodka and caviar, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

A ceremonial event dedicated to the Day of Persons with Disabilities took place in Korosten last Sunday. In addition to people with disabilities, a number of high-ranking officials were invited to the celebration.
The tables for blind elderly disabled people, judging by the photographs, were not distinguished by an abundance of treats. They were offered cookies, waffles and pies. At the same time, there was not even simple water and tea on the tables. High-ranking guests received a much more varied menu. On the tables at which the officials sat were dishes with meat and fish snacks, delicacies, caviar and fruit. They were also offered to drink alcohol. Judging by the photo, the authorities were pleased with this reception - they were smiling and in a great mood.
Nevertheless, the disabled smelled the official delicacies and, recognizing them by smell, asked the accompanying persons to describe what was served on the neighboring tables.
As noted in the press service of the city council, among the guests of the event were the mayor of the city Vladimir Moskalenko, the chairman of the “Association of Leaders of the City of Korosten” Vasily Kunitsky, the head of the department of labor and social protection of the population Vladimir Yesin and people’s deputy Vladimir Areshonkov. Last one later brought to my page on the social network Facebook public apologies to city residents “for this shame.”
On the scales, according to the politician, were his morality and ability to enter into an argument with colleagues. He also noted that he was reproaching himself for his indecisiveness and for not leaving the event. Areshonkov admitted: he paid attention to the tables for the disabled and even asked the organizers of the holiday why they were almost empty. The people in charge promised to deliver the products. “They didn’t deliver,” the official said, adding that he could not take the sausage from his table and pass it on to the one next to him.
