Officials in Crimea “spent” budget money on New Year’s decorations, despite the ban during the New Year
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the fact of inflating the cost of New Year's decorations, which the administration of Yevpatoria bought, despite the prohibition of the head of Crimea from spending budget money on tinsel in the conditions of the Northern Military District. Of the 30 million rubles paid, investigators found only 17 million worth of jewelry, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Sledkom, in November last year, the municipal enterprise “Poryadok” entered into a contract with an individual entrepreneur for 30 million rubles for the installation of illumination design elements. The budgetary enterprise paid the money in full, but the illumination did not reach the amount of more than 13 million rubles. In particular, in Evpatoria chat rooms they write about a certain glowing bunny worth 3 million rubles, which was supposed to decorate the central square of the city, but no one saw it.
Investigators have not yet named the specific names of the officials responsible for significant material damage to the budget of Yevpatoria; the case has been opened based on the fact. But it is known that at that time the acting head of the administration of Yevpatoria, Alexander Loskutov, is now going to the administration of Belgorod - to the position of deputy to another former Crimean manager, Valentin Demidov. This is the same one who spent only 8 months as head of the Simferopol administration, but was never able to cope with the reconstruction of Lenin Square. As a result, Demidov left the Crimean capital and found a job in the Belgorod administration.
Let us recall that on the eve of the New Year holidays, all municipalities were officially prohibited from spending budget funds on organizing festive events and illumination, and the top officials of the republic vied with each other to say that the format of the New Year celebration should correspond to the historical period, and the money would be better spent on helping the fighters.
But later it turned out that, bypassing the ban, Evpatoria decided to purchase light bulbs and garlands. Then the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, called the only justification for the actions of his subordinates that Yevpatoria “needs to update the illumination to a certain average level of illumination.”
